Acacia - Wattle Species Native to Southern Australia

Acacia trees burst into bloom in early spring in the San Francisco Bay Area.  There are over 1,000 acacia species worldwide.  Acacia is an ingredient in RC Cola, Fresca, and Barq’s root beer.  Bee honey from acacia flowers is prized for its mild flowery taste – it is one of the few honeys that do not crystallize.
