The Conservatory of Flowers is located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.  The building is the oldest Victorian greenhouse in North America.  It was built in 1878 and is modeled after the Palm House at London’s Kew Gardens.  Of special interest is the Conservatory’s rare collection of high-altitude orchids.

We’re going here soon to check out the Plantasaurus Rex exhibit. Looks beautiful!

  2. Pam says:

When I visited they had a model train that went around a cityscape made of recycled materials (i.e., Victorian Houses made of cereal boxes, etc.). It’s a nice place to visit, and can easily be combined with other activities in Golden Gate Park.
