The Night-Blooming Cereus Cactus is known as the Queen (or Princess)-of-the-Night.  This particular variety is also known as snake vine cactus (Selenicereus pteranthus), and is native to Central America.  Gardeners have traditionally held parties on summer evenings to celebrate the spectacular blooms.  Each fragrant flower is only open for one night.  This cactus is a delightful addition to our Florida garden.

WOW — Only one night? What a gorgeous display that flower makes on its one night, though… 🙂

  2. Pam says:

The flowers are so BIG! Older cactus are sometimes covered with hundreds of blooms in one night. That would really be something!

    Hi,
That is really beautiful, I have never seen it before, what a shame it only opens for one night.

    Can you eat the fruit
