Hurricane Sandy: Blustery Beach Day in Florida

High Surf at Sebastian Inlet Pier

Waves with Wind-Blown Spray

Sea Beans Collected Today at Sebastian Beach

Although Hurricane Sandy passed far east of Florida’s Atlantic coast, the storm still brought high surf and wind to Sebastian Inlet today. The waves washed in lots of sea beans from the Caribbean.

Kongo just cancelled his flight out tomorrow to Washington DC. Everyone is running scared back there and meetings are being cancelled like the plague is going around. Of course it’s probably for the best…the monkey doesn’t appreciate being in a hotel with the power out and the streets flooded. CNN termed it “the storm of your lifetime.” A little over the top perhaps so the monkey will lay around in the Southern California sun for a week.

    Nice pictures.

Kongo is a wise monkey! Richard has a flight scheduled for Thursday to Washington DC – doesn’t know if it will happen or not.

  3. Glad to hear Sandy passed at a distance. Hope everyone is safe and sound! Great photographs.

All is well here. Hope the storm isn’t too bad in the Northeast. We went back to the beach today, and the beach was wiped clean – only sand. Quite a surprise! The reverse winds must have pushed it all back out to sea.

Look at that stash! So wonderful. We got quite some winds and rain down here…

Glad you are all okay! Most of my family is in the Maryland, Virginia area. They are about to get walloped tonight….I’m hoping for the best.
