Four Wild Turkeys Along Fence

A flock of wild turkeys visits our Florida backyard every day.  They are safe in our wildlife-friendly neighborhood, and happily eat a meal of whole corn put out for them every morning.  They are surprisingly good at running and flying – such a joy to have around.  Happy Thanksgiving!

About Pam
Richard and Pam lived in the San Francisco Bay Area 14 years (1987-1999 and 2008-2011). They lived in Florida 13 years previously, until returning in July 2011 to present. They hope their photography will encourage you to get out and discover nature's beauty in your own backyard, parks, and wild places. Wow, now that’s a lot of turkeys!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flying turkey, Pam, but as I think about it of course they fly! Particularly this time of year. Happy Thanksgiving to you both!

  3. I’m surprised that these turkeys hang around Pam. I’ve seen loads of turkeys in FL, and my experience is that they’re incredibly wary and impossible to approach. It’s very cool that you can study them up close in your backyard. Have a fun and decadent Thanksgiving! ~James
