Anchor from shipwrecked American schooner Jamestown beside Kirkjuvogskirkja Church, which is in farming community of Hafnir on central west side Reykjanes Peninsula, near Reykjavik, Iceland. The abandoned ship drifted ashore in 1881. The wood and cargo of lumber salvaged from the wreck were of great value in the treeless community. An interesting article about the fate of the ship is at: http://www.leoemm.com/jamestown_english.htm.
